A Message from Our Principal

Dear Heartland Wildcat Families,

It’s back to school time. Summer break is almost over I hope that you and your family had a chance to relax and take a break. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Heartland Ranch as your school. We are committed to our school and student achievement, and we are excited to begin a new school year.

There's a lot of excitement ahead of us including new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to make, and new skills to master.

There have been a couple of changes to our system for the upcoming year. They are as follows:

School Hours
School begins at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Students may arrive to school beginning at 8:00 a.m. If you have any questions about these times or have any challenges associated with these times please contact us.

School Calendar
School begins on August 5, 2013, this year. Coolidge School District has decreased the number of early release days. You can get a complete calendar by visiting our Calendar page.

Fourth/Fifth Grade Classes
Our fourth and fifth grade teachers have elected to team teach. This decision was based on several reasons:

  1. The implementation of national common core standards can be enhanced through utilizing the expertise of each teacher.
  2. The transition from 5th grade to middle school has also caused students a great deal of concern.
  3. The effective utilization of instructional time. As a result students in grades four and five will have the benefit of each teacher’s area of expertise. Students will have a homeroom and then rotate between content area teachers. This will allow students the opportunity to learn to adapt to a middle school model in a less stressful environment while allowing teachers to team teach in order to provide the maximum focus on content areas and more effective use of instructional time.

We will be hosting an open house on August 1, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During this time you will be able to meet your teacher and explore the campus. We will make class lists available the week of July 29, 2013. We will post them outside the front office for the entire week.

In closing please remember that if you have any questions or concerns, we are committed to assisting you. Please take advantage of all the educational and supportive benefits we offer. Please call our office for assistance during school hours.

Thank you for your commitment to your child's education! I look forward to seeing you at open house on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jessie Arroyos, Principal
